It depends what money and control is for. Most every human alive needs some of what money can buy. And every individual and group needs to have good control of its objectives.

I'm a Liar
by Perry inso, i'm downtown quite early the other morning while still dark and i see a man holding an awake.
so, i pull over and wave him over.
after a few words of cordiality, i ask him why jehovah's witnesses teach that jesus returned invisibly in 1914 when jesus himself said this:in matthew 24:.

JWs don't have churches. The groups are called households/families, Book Study groups, Congregations, Circuits, Districts, and Zones. Their buildings are called Kingdom Halls or Assembly Halls. Liars can still attend, especially if they'd like to repent.

to AuldSoul: I took part in the bread & "wine" every Sunday until I understood 1 Corinthians 5. I'm glad I stopped partaking,
1 Corinthians 5 has nothing to do with drinking the blood and eating the body of Christ so I'm not sure how you relate that.
to A. Kate: I was thinking of 1 Cor.5:7-8. The group I was with took had all those baptized into it take part of "emblems" every Sunday. Their "emblems" were a slice of leavened bread (often regular store-bought bread with the crust removed, and shaped like a square) and a glass of grape juice unthawed from a can. Once I understood what bread & wine would have been used by Jesus (and that he only partook once a year), I switched affiliations.
Jesus said that if you are a believer in Him you will drink His blood and eat His body and if you do not, you have no life in you. Those are pretty strong words. No life in you, none. John 6
Since I have an earthly hope (never having believed that I was to be bought from the earth as the 144,000 are, nor that I would rule as a king/priest), I stopped partaking. I don't expect to get everlasting life until the end of the Millenium. Unless I'm judged to be a Liar, in which case I'd be in line for the second death. (Rev.21:8.)

The passing of the bread and wine replaced the annual Passover Meal for the true Christian, who at that time was a Jew, as was Jesus. The heavenly hopes for Samaritans and Gentiles wasn't granted until later, unless I'm a liar. God knows.

The Scriptures are being fulfilled, just as the FDS say they would be. Jehovah oversees the fulfillment of Scriptures, not you or me. Jehovah doesn't lie. He's not a man like us.

I'm not a member of the New Covenant or of the Heavenly Class, as the ones at the Last Supper table were. Since I'm of the earthly class, I'm not bought from the earth, and I don't share in sacrificing my life. I've been called to stay on earth.

Perry, your questions look like those of the serpent to Eve in Genesis 3, and designed to throw the reader off balance. I didn't read more than the first paragraph where I saw questions, this time. I'm not interested in wasting my time or yours. As Jesus said in his rebuke to Satan at Matthew 4:10, Jehovah is your God, it is Him you must worship and render your sacred service.

LESSONS FROM HISTORY
by Doug Mason inlessons from history .
i have a few reasons for providing the information that follows: .
* a very recent posting mentioned eschatologists of the 19th century (1800s) who provided ctr with his ideas on the interpretation of last-day prophecies.

I agree wholeheartedly. The physical man has his heart set on material, earthly rewards while the spiritual man does not seek these things.
The Master Worker looked down from above and valued the human being, though a creation of flesh and bones.
I think it is humorous that you ignore the fact that the prophets of old did state that they spoke for Jehovah and did state that the prophecies were infallible. You have nothing to controvert my argument with so you reduce yourself to rather pedestrian poetry in lieu of discussion.
In the Bible we see both the false and the true, as elsewhere the spirits must be tested. I see the articles in the WT like articles written during the 1st century CE. Some thoughts may make the new scrolls, while the rest may remain on the cutting room floor. The wheat is still not completely separated from the chaff yet, except for those in Jehovah's association. Stars differ in brightness, even as do humans (whether of the Anointed [John, or may I say Messiah/Christ]-class, or of the other sheep [of which the great crowd is a subset]).

"Trinitarians" how can you "lie" to the truth? Is truth a person?
by booker-t ini was talking to this jw's elder who i believe has to be the best debater against the "trinity" doctrine that jw's have he brought up several point which i feel needs to be addressed by trinitarians.
first of all he argured that acts 5:3-4 about lying to the holy spirit in no way makes the holy spirit a person any more that "lying to the truth" in james makes "truth" a person.
i have never seen that verse before about lying to the truth.

Trinitarians can be Catholic, Protestant, or Hindu. They believe in various tales
like, Rudolph the Red-nose Reindeer and the Spirit of Christmas Cheer.
Some go naked and let their skin do. Other deny the need for the ransom and scales.
Yet Jehovah is God, the God of All Prayer. Sheep will feed well, while the goats get thin air.

The physical man and the spiritual man, how different their perspectives,
how differently they see things, how different their objectives.
While the physical man sees just the flaw, the spiritual man stands in awe.
Two men they are as they discuss, just as two ants might be to us.
